"English Country Garden" tea dance - Sunday 12th April

Please bring a cake or something savoury to share with everyone in the break.

Tea, coffee and squash will be provided.

Tickets have now sold out!

We will be hosting a tea dance in October, so keep an eye out for more information when tickets go on sale around August/September 2026.

The Eve of Waterloo Ball - Saturday 13th June 2026

To celebrate the incredible 250th anniversary of the Newark Town Hall , Bonnets and Breeches Dance Society are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our very first ball! As the date also coincides with the build up to the Battle of Waterloo we have decided to theme it around the battle and call it 'The Eve of Waterloo Ball'.

Date and time: Saturday 13th June 2026, 7-11pm

Venue: Newark Town Hall, Newark, Notts, NG24 1DU

Attire: Regency / Waterloo military. Flat-soled shoes are required.

Musicians: Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer

Dance callers: Lynne Spicer and Vicky Brown

Belton House Literary Festival 2026

Bonnets and breeches are delighted to have been booked once again by National Trust's Belton House, this year to perform on several dates as part of their Literary Festival in June and July 2026.

We will be performing dances linked to literature and be providing talks about books linked to the fabulous Belton House Library on the following dates:

Saturday 11^th July

On each date, we will hopefully (weather depending) be dancing, talking and promenading in the Saloon and the Italian Gardens between 11am and 3pm.

Bonnets and Breeches' Annual Summer Picnic - August 2026

Bonnets and Breeches will be having our 5th annual picnic at Newstead Abbey and would love for our family and friends to join us.

If you would like to join us in regency costume then please do, but this is not essential.

Date: Sunday 9th August (weather depending)

Times: 11am to 2pm

Please bring your own picnic and seating / blankets.

We will do a bit of regency dancing and may bring some lawn games to play. If you wish to bring a game, then please feel free to bring it along.
